The ADP7182 is a CMOS, low dropout (LDO) linear regulator that operates from −2.7 V to −28 V and provides up to −200 mA of output current. This high input voltage LDO is ideal for regulation of high performance analog and mixed signal circuits operating from −27 V down to −1.22 V rails. Using an advanced proprietary architecture, it provides high power supply rejection and low noise, and achieves excellent line and load transient response with a small 2.2 μF ceramic output capacitor.

The ADP7182 is available in a fixed output voltage and an adjustable version that allows the output voltage to range from −1.22 V to −VIN + VDO via an external feedback divider.

The ADP7182 regulator output noise is 18 μV rms independent of the output voltage. The enable logic is capable of interfacing with positive or negative logic levels for maximum flexibility.

The ADP7182 is available in an 8-lead LFCSP package for a small, low profile footprint. The 5-lead TSOT package is scheduled for release by the end of 2013.

Product Details

The ADP7182 evaluation board is used to demonstrate the functionality of the ADP7182 series of linear regulators.

Simple device measurements such as line and load regulation, dropout, and ground current can be demonstrated with just a single voltage source, a voltmeter, an ammeter, and load resistors.

Product Details

In order to get the correct unpopulated evaluation board with an appropriate Bill of Materials and Schematic, you need to use the button for "Request Evaluation Board" from within the design tool. Make sure the design tool is in a state that matches your desired power requirements.

This will create a template email that will request from us the proper blank evaluation board for that ADI part and your application's power parameters.


Note: Some parts have multiple blank boards for high/low current or for different topologies (Boost, SEPIC, SEPIC-Cuk), while other blank boards support multiple ADI parts. This is why it is important to run the design tool with your parameters before making your email request from the tool.

Goodness knows the world badly needs more negative voltage regulators, and this new IC is a welcome addition But we're disappointed with its wimpy package options. A 200mA, 28-volt max regulator needs the ability to handle serious power dissipation. For example, dropping an unregulated DC of say -18 to -24 volts down to a clean low-noise -15 volts. At 200mA maximum load that's 1.8 watts, max. Come on guys, at least give us a SOT-223 package option, or something similar!

It's a good choice for LDO application.Because of it's high PSRR and high input voltage,it becomes the best replacement of the old LM78Lxx voltage regulator for low power and high performance application.

Good Regulator for low power applications
Tested this (among others from competitiors) for powering a signal conditioning application. Found it fitting best and will go into production. I rated features average since it has all i needed without unnecessairy gimmicks.

LDO ADP7182
Excellent LDO for negative voltages. Perfect for high performance analog circuits. Used this for each stage on the precision circuit to get much better results.

Pls improve the deion of the datasheet
Variations of EN threshold is not listed in the data sheet. in the deion, the absolute value of EN threshold is 2V, but the threshold voltages of positive and negative is different in the graph, I'm confused. PSRR is very good!
