Blank/Unpopulated Evaluation Boards from ADIsimPower

In order to get the correct unpopulated evaluation board with an appropriate Bill of Materials and Schematic, you need to use the button for "Request Evaluation Board" from within the design tool. Make sure the design tool is in a state that matches your desired power requirements.

This will create a template email that will request from us the proper blank evaluation board for that ADI part and your application's power parameters.

Note: Some parts have multiple blank boards for high/low current or for different topologies (Boost, SEPIC, SEPIC-Cuk), while other blank boards support multiple ADI parts. This is why it is important to run the design tool with your parameters before making your email request from the tool.

Instructions

  • Run ADIsimPower to find the right part, topology, and design tool for your application power needs.
  • Download the design tool for part & topology.
  • Run the design tool with specific parameters and advanced settings for your application.
  • Save the design, so that you have the Bill of Material and Schematic to populate the board later.
  • Make sure the design tool is in a state that matches your desired power requirements.
  • Use the button for "Request Evaluation Board" from within the design tool.

    Software and Tools

    With the exception of the Supervisor Parametric Search, the following stand-alone tools generate a power supply design complete with a schematic, bill of materials, and performance specifications including efficiency based on the user's preference for size, efficiency, and cost.

    IMPORTANT: You must enable macros when Microsoft Excel asks you as the file is being opened.

    The same tools (ZIP files) are available from ADIsimPower or Supervisor Parametric Search.

    Note: Microsoft Excel is dependent on the language setting Microsoft Windows for the indication of a decimal point. Issues may arise when some of these files are read/run in Excel of another language that does not use decimal point notation (such as "2.7") and uses instead decimal comma notation (such as "2,7"). The the temporary workaround is to change the language of Microsoft Windows to English. [Control Panel->Region and Language->Format]. The specific error comes from the Excel Rank command that is used by just a few tools and that does not gracefully handle decimal notation of the opposite sort suddenly in a "smart" Microsoft Excel format conversion to the regional language when opened.
