The ADA4898-1 is an ultralow noise and distortion, unity gain stable, voltage feedback op amp that is ideal for use in 16-bit and 18-bit systems with power supplies from ±5 V to ±16 V. The ADA4898-1 features a linear, low noise input stage and internal compensation that achieves high slew rates and low noise.

With the wide supply voltage range, low offset voltage, and wide bandwidth, the ADA4898-1 is extremely versatile, and it features a cancellation circuit that reduces input bias current. The ADA4898-1 is available in an 8-lead SOIC package that features an exposed metal paddle to improve power dissipation and heat transfer to the negative supply plane. This EPAD offers a significant thermal relief over traditional plastic packages. The ADA4898-1 is rated to work over the extended industrial temperature range of −40°C to +105°C.

    These evaluation boards are designed to help users evaluate the ADA4898-1. The evaluation board is a BARE BOARD. There are no components or amplifiers soldered to the board. These parts must be obtained separately from the table below or on the product page. Free samples may also be requested. The unpopulated board enables users to quickly customize and prototype a variety of op amp circuits, which minimizes risk and reduces time to market.

     

    The User Guide contains all the required documentation to build the board, including schematics, assembly drawing, and Bill of Materials.

    I am using the ADA4898 with external JFET for a transimpedance amplifier with very good performances. The ADA4898 is excellent for the overall specifications and the standard voltage range.

    Low noise bipolar opamp ADA4898 + JFET for TIA
    I am using the ADA4898 with external JFET for a transimpedance amplifier with very good performances. The ADA4898 is excellent for the overall specifications and the standard voltage range.

    Great product for audio ..
    We've tested this product extensively for audio purpose, and still sonic tests undergoing. At a first view, ADA4898-1 should be considered an improved version of the AD797, showing less stability issues and better 1/f corner. As a voltage follower, we've got the best noise performances and lowest ringing with RF=392R and CF=4p7, as in the specs. However, AD didn't specify THD lower than 100kHz, and that's a very good reason for any designer to measure and evaluate the overall sonic performances of their own audio design before next step. Generally speaking, we'll be testing further various designs to conclude the THD envelope vs blind listening sessions, in order to define our final design.

    Here is great performance but no DIL8 package
    The ADA4898-1.offers great performance with real low distortion,has an exelent low noise floor, and gives a good decoupling to disturbances on the sopply voltage. In DC coupled designs you need an aditional external compensation for the thermal drift of the circuit. ( internal ofsett-correction has no thermal compensation) For research it will be helpful to have it also available in a DIL8 package ( or in an comfortable adaption). this wouldl make it easyer to use, or test it as a substitute in former Layout designs.
