The LTC3884/LTC3884-1 are dual output PolyPhase DC/DC synchronous step-down switching regulator controllers with an I2C-based PMBus compliant serial interface. The controllers employ a constant-frequency current mode architecture, together with a unique scheme to provide excellent performance for sub-milliohm DCR applications. The LTC3884/LTC3884-1 are supported by the LTpowerPlay® software development tool with graphical user interface (GUI).
Programmable loop compensation allows the controller to be compensated digitally. Switching frequency, channel phasing, output voltage, and device address can be programmed both by the digital interface as well as external configuration resistors. Additionally, parameters can be set via the digital interface or stored in EEPROM. Both outputs have independent power good indicators and FAULT function.
The LTC3884-1 has all the features that the LTC3884 has except the LTC3884 includes MOSFET gate drivers while the LTC3884-1 does not.

Demonstration circuit 2605A is a high efficiency, high density, single-output buck converter with 7V to 14V input range. The output voltage is adjustable from 0.5V to 1.5V, and can supply up to 120A of load current with a 1V output. The demo board features the LTC3884-1paired with a slave controller LTC3874-1 to provide a 4-phase buck converter solution. The LTC3884-1 is a dual output poly phase step-down controller for ultra-low DCR sensing with digital power system management. The LTC3874-1 is a dual PolyPhase® current mode synchronous stepdown slave controller. Please see LTC3884-1 data sheet for more detailed information.
Demonstration circuit 2298A contains the circuitry needed to program and verify the EEPROM of the LTC3884 in the UK package and that is its only purpose. The DC2298A is shipped with a LTC3884 installed in the clamshell style programming socket and its EEPROM contains the factory default configuration. The LTpowerPlay® #.proj file that corresponds to the factory default can be found in the GUI.
Demonstration circuit 2084A is a high efficiency, high density, single-output step-down solution featuring the LTC3884 and two LTC3874's. The LTC3884 is a dual output PolyPhase® step-down controller with ultralow DCR sensing and digital power system management. The LTC3874 is a PolyPhase step-down synchronous slave controller also with sub-milliohm DCR Sensing. The combination provides a circuit with a 10V to 14V input voltage range that can supply up to 240A of output current. The default output voltage is 1V, but can be set from 0.5V to 1.5V.
The DC2084A powers up to default settings and produces power based on configuration resistors or with its non-volatile memory without the need for any serial bus communication. This allows easy evaluation of the DC/DC converter. To fully explore the extensive power system management features of the part, download the GUI software LTpowerPlay® and use LTC’s I2C/SMBus/PMBus dongle DC1613A to connect to the board.
Demonstration circuit 2283A is a high efficiency, high density, single-output Buck converter with 7V to 14V input range. The output voltage is adjustable from 0.5V to 1.5V, and can supply up to 160A of load current with a 1V output. The demo board offers the option to be configured as a dual-output converter, contact factory for details. VOUT0 can supply a 40A maximum load current and VOUT1 can supply a 120A maximum load current. The demo board features the LTC3884, a dual output poly phase step-down controller for ultra-low DCR sensing with digital power system management. Please see LTC3884 data sheet for more detailed information.
