Product Description

The AD5543/AD5553 contains a current-output, digital-to-analog converter in a space savings pin-compatible µSOIC-8 package. The AD5543 offers full 16-bit resolution while the lower priced AD5553 offers 14-bit resolution. Operating from a single +5 V supply, this part consumes less than 10 micro-amps in the quiescent state, significantly reducing heat generation. Using a precision external reference, and an op amp, a wide variety of output ranges are configurable from single ended |5 V| through |10 V|, to dual polarity ±2.5 through ±10 VPEAK spans. In programmable AC attenuation applications, the 2-quadrant multiplying mode operates at 4 MHz bandwidths. DAC Data loads at 40 MHz through a simple 3-wire SPI compatible serial interface.
