The MAXQ2000 microcontroller is a low-power, 16-bit device that incorporates a liquid-crystal display (LCD) interface that can drive up to 100 (-RBX/-RBX+) or 132 (-RAX/-RAX+/-RFX/-RFX+) segments. The MAXQ2000 is uniquely suited for the blood-glucose monitoring market, but can be used in any application that requires high performance and low-power operation. The device can operate at a maximum of either 14MHz (VDD > 1.8V) or 20MHz (VDD > 2.25V). The MAXQ2000 has 32kWords of flash memory, 1kWord of RAM, three 16-bit timers, and one or two universal synchronous/asynchronous receiver/transmitters (UARTs). Flash memory aids prototyping and low-volume production. The microcontroller core is powered by a 1.8V supply, with a separate I/O supply for optimum flexibility. An ultra-low-power sleep mode makes these parts ideal for battery-powered, portable equipment.

The MAXQ2010 evaluation kit (EV kit) is a proven platform to conveniently evaluate the capabilities of the MAXQ2010 ADC microcontroller. The kit contains the MAXQ2010 with unused GPIO pins brought out to headers, a USB-to-JTAG programming interface, on-board power regulators, buffered ADC inputs, and an 8-digit LCD display. With the included software, and USB cable connected to a personal computer, the EV kit provides a completely functional system ideal for evaluating the capabilities of the MAXQ2010.

The Maxim Audio Interface 1 (AUDINT1) board provides both an I2C and I2S interface to facilitate the evaluation of compatible Maxim Development (DEV) boards. Maxim DEV boards that are evaluated with the AUDINT1 interface board can require custom GUI software, which is available as a download from Maxim’s evkit-software web page.

The AUDINT1 board and a compatible DEV board are ordered together as an evaluation system (EV system). Ordering information for EV systems is located in the EV system data sheet.

Refer to the appropriate EV system data sheet for quick start and detailed operating instructions.

The AUDINT1 board is provided as part of selected Maxim evaluation systems (EV system) to evaluate Maxim parts only. The use of the AUDINT1 board as a development target is not supported. Refer to the MAXQ2000 evaluation kit data sheet for this purpose.

Maxim evaluation kits (EV kits) that make use of the MINIQUSB require custom software, and can be ordered together as an evaluation system (EV system).
