Supercapacitor Chargers
Analog Devices offers a portfolio of supercapacitor charger ICs designed to charge supercapacitors (also known as ultracapacitors). These supercapacitor charger devices come in both linear and switching topologies and offer input or output current limiting, automatic cell balancing, and a range of protection features that make them uniquely suited to supercap charging. Due to the number of advantages supercapacitors have, such as lower effective series resistance (ESR) and enhanced durability in the face of repeated charging, they are an increasingly important alternative to batteries in applications where the importance of power delivery trumps that of total energy storage.
