The ADXL375 is a small, thin, 3-axis MEMS accelerometer that provides low power consumption and high resolution measurement up to ±200 g. The digital output data is formatted as 16-bit, twos complement data and is accessible through a SPI (3- or 4-wire) or I2C digital interface.

An integrated memory management system with a 32-level first in, first out (FIFO) buffer can be used to store data to minimize host processor activity and lower overall system power consumption.

Low power modes enable intelligent motion-based power management with threshold sensing and active acceleration measurement at extremely low power dissipation.

The ADXL375 is supplied in a small, thin, 3 mm × 5 mm × 1 mm, 14-lead LGA.

Product Details

The EVAL-ADXL375Z is a simple evaluation board that allows quick evaluation of the performance of the ADXL375 3-axis digital accelerometer. The EVAL-ADXL375Z has two sets of 0.1 inch spaced vias, for population of a 4-pin and 5-pin header, for access to all power and signal lines. The vias or headers allow the evaluation board to be attached to a prototyping board (breadboard) or attached to the PCB in an existing system. Four holes are provided for mechanical attachment of the EVAL-ADXL375Z to the application. An external host processor is required for communication to the part.For evaluation boards that include a processor, please see the EVAL-ADXL375Z-M (Real Time Eval System for Digital Output Sensor).

 

The dimensions of the EVAL-ADXL375Z are 20 mm × 20 mm with mounting holes set 15 mm × 15 mm at the corners of the printed circuit board (PCB).

Hi, First let me say that this is a great product and we will definitely be using it as a successor of the AD2228x series we have been using for years now. 3-axis, +/-200g range, integrated AD-converter and SPI bus are very well appreciated! However, the combined SPI/I2C implementation was disappointing since for a robust design I'm forced to add an additional logic gate needlessly occuying space on my board. Since the 14 pins package even has 2 spare pins left, I don't understand the need for this pin-sharing interface design... Martijn.

I suggest to separate SPI from I2C and add the possibility to use the absolute magnitude of acceleration to detect activity/inactivity and shocks

Please separate I2C from SPI.
The device fulfills our needs, but we would like two modifications. One, to separate i2c from spi, so no additional logic is needed. Second, the absolute magnitude of acceleration should be available to the communication interfaces.

SPI bus

High G monitoring of tactical grade IMU/INS for GPS denied applications
Item ordered for new board now fabricated and ready to be populated. Previous high G single axis units worked well so I expect to have good performance. This will be used to monitor environmental test results for a new tactical grade IMU. In addition, the 70G parts will be embedded in the interior of the IMU to monitor both structures that make up the fabrication of this new IMU.

ADXL375 really perform as expected, even for a hard wired prototype.

This product has working properly, need more suitable packaging for PCB
It is really hard for me to weld it on my pcb board by hands, so I suggest maybe more PCB package could be designed

ADXL375 review
We have used ADXL375, but after evaluation we conclude that only accelerometer will not be sufficient and supportive gyroscope and magnetometer will best suits our final project goal. We are looking for low cost all in single chip solution (9D).
