Differential Amplifiers

Differential amplifiers (diff amps), also referred to as fully differential amplifiers (FDA), are differential input and differential output gain block amplifiers that may have fixed or programmable gains but often are intended for use with external feedback elements to set the gain. Diff amps are particularly well suited for differential signaling applications such as driving or receiving signals over long cable lengths, driving a balanced ADC input, or buffering complementary output DACs. Diff amps have inherent common-mode rejection properties, provide low harmonic distortion, and have excellent output gain and phase matching. Analog Devices’ broad portfolio of diff amps include products that are optimized for precision, high speed, and low power.
