Product Description

The AD8310 is an ultra-fast responding, highly versatile logarithmic amplifier in an 8-lead micro-SO package.

It is a complete 400 MHz monolithic demodulating logarithmic amplifier based on the progressive compression (successive compression) technique, providing a dynamic range of 95 dB to ±3 dB law conformance and 90 dB to a tight ±1 dB error bound at frequencies up to 100 MHz.

It is extremely stable and easy to use, requiring no significant external components. A single supply voltage of 2.7 V to 5.5 V is required, resulting in a power dissipation of only 24 mW at 3 V.

The AD8310 is an ideal choice for demanding IF signal measurement applications. This log amp makes this task easier through the detection and compression of an IF signal to its decibel (dB) equivalent. The AD8310 has a very rapid 15 ns response time, enabling detection of ASK modulated waveforms to over 10 MHz. Other applications include RSSI, transmit power control and pulse detection.
