Bicycle Power Meter
Cyclists rely on the feedback of power to gauge their fitness. The bicycle power meter demo is a battery powered, wireless system that measures a cyclist’s power output. The demo incorporates the MAX41400 instrumentation amplifier, MAX11108 SAR ADC, and the MAX32666 MCU. The force applied by the cyclist is measured with strain gauges.
The amplified force signal is sampled and the data sent via BLE to an Android tablet. A custom app uses the force and angular velocity data received from the circuitry on the bike to calculate and display the power.
