The LTC3621/LTC3621-2 is a high efficiency 17V, 1A synchronous monolithic step-down regulator. The switching frequency is fixed to 1MHz or 2.25MHz with a ±40% synchronizing range. The regulator features ultralow quiescent current and high efficiencies over a wide VOUT range.

The step-down regulator operates from an input voltage range of 2.7V to 17V and provides an adjustable output range from 0.6V to VIN while delivering up to 1A of output current. A user-selectable mode input is provided to allow the user to trade off ripple noise for light load efficiency; Burst Mode operation provides the highest efficiency at light loads, while pulse-skipping mode provides the lowest voltage ripple. The MODE pin can also be used to allow the user to sync the switching frequency to an external clock.

Product Detail

The ADMV96S-WGBE-EK1 is a complete evaluation and prototyping system for 60 GHz wireless data links. It consists of a pair of receiver and transmitter boards with a 1Gbp Ethernet interface on each side of the wireless link.

The 60 GHz wireless link is implemented by the ADMV9615 and ADMV9525 modules. These are coupled with a SerDes device which translates the modules’ SGMII interface to RGMII so that it can be connected to an ADIN1300 industrial low latency and low power 1 Gbps Ethernet PHY. This enables each side of the wireless link to act as an Ethernet port and essentially create a seamless wire-like connection between two ends of an Ethernet cable.

The on-board MAX32650 ultralow power ARM® Cortex®-M4 microcontroller controls the system’s operation and implements the algorithms to configure the wireless link in real time so that optimal link quality is constantly maintained over temperature and various operating conditions. An open-source software stack is provided for firmware development as well as reference applications. The MAX32650 can be programmed through a programming port which can also be used for firmware debugging.

The two sides of the wireless link are mounted on an adjustable rail so that the system can be configured and tested for various distances between the links. Each side of the link is powered from an external 12 V power supply.

An open-source GUI is provided for system configuration, monitoring, and control from a host PC.

Product Detail

Demonstration circuit 1864A is a step-down converter, capable of delivering up to 1A of output current from a minimum input voltage of 2.7V. The DC1864A uses the power-saving LTC3621-2 2.25MHz monolithic synchronous buck regulator that comes in a tiny 2mm × 3mm 6-lead DFN package. The LTC3621-2 IC quiescent currents can be as low as 3.5μA in normal operation, and less than 0.1μA in shutdown. The output voltage range of the DC1864A is from as low as 0.6V, the reference voltage of the LTC3621‑2, to as high as the maximum input voltage, 17V.

The AD-FMCXMWBR1-EBZ is a level translator and power supply board, with FMC-compatible form factor. It is powered from the FMC connector, with the possibility to add an external supply, for application that require higher load currents. In this case, the external supply is prioritized. 

AD-FMCXMWBR1-EBZ allows multiple level translated digital communications paths between a controller/FPGA device and X-MW blocks. The module provides multiple supply voltages with high current capability, that can be used to bias the X-MW blocks or other IC’s in a prototype design.
