The HMC1087F10 is an 8W Gallium Nitride (GaN) MMI C Power Amplifier which operates between 2 and 20 GHz, and is provided in a 10-lead flange mount package. The amplifier typically provides 11 dB of small signal gain, +39 dBm of saturated output power, and +43 dBm output IP 3 at +28 dBm output power per tone. The amplifier draws 850 mA quiescent current from a +28V DC supply. The RF I/Os are matched to 50 Ohms for ease of use.

Evaluation Kits (1)
The HMC1087F10 evaluation board is a two layer PCB fabricated using 10 mil thick Arlon 25FR or Rogers 4350B copper clad. The PCB is mounted to a metal heat spreader which assists in providing thermal relief to the part as well as mechanical support to the PCB. Mounting holes allow for easy attachment to larger heat sinks for improved thermal management. The RF input and RF output traces have a 50 ohm characteristic impedance and the board is populated with components suitable for use over the entire Operating Temperature range of the part.
Tools & Simulations
Sys-Parameter models contain behavioral parameters, such as P1dB, IP3, gain, noise figure and return loss, which describe nonlinear and linear characteristics of a device.
ADIsimRF is an easy-to-use RF signal chain calculator. Cascaded gain, noise, distortion and power consumption can be calculated, plotted and exported for signal chains with up to 50 stages. ADIsimRF also includes an extensive data base of device models for ADI’s RF and mixed signal components.
ADI has always placed the highest emphasis on delivering products that meet the maximum levels of quality and reliability. We achieve this by incorporating quality and reliability checks in every scope of product and process design, and in the manufacturing process as well. "Zero defects" for shipped products is always our goal.
