The ADuC841 MicroConverter® is a fully integrated 12-bit data acquisition system-on-a-chip and is a higher speed-core (single cycle) upgrade to the existing ADuC812 and ADuC831. Like all of ADI's MicroConverter products, it features precision A/D & D/A conversion and a Flash microcontroller on a single chip.

It is available in 52-pin PQFP or 56-pin CSP packages and operates on a 3V or 5V power supply.

The QuickStart Kits for the ADuC8x-series (8052-core) Precision Analog Microcontrollers feature serial-port download/debug capability and an assembly-source debugging environment.


ADI also provides a non-intrusive emulation POD called the USB-EA-CONVZ allowing assembly & C-source debugging. The QuickStart Plus includes the POD (USB-EA-CONVZ) or it can be ordered separately.

I've used this series of micros in the past and have always been happy with their performance. Since I'm a power/analog designer and only dabble in micros the fact that it has an 8051 core and can be programmed without an expensive jtag programmer make them perfect for someone like myself. Plus the analog peripherals are top notch. The only issue I have is that they command a price premium over competitors offerings, so for small custom runs which I am typically involved in they are great.
