Product Details

The AD8237 is a micropower, zero drift, rail-to-rail input and output instrumentation amplifier. The relative match of two resistors sets any gain from 1 to 1000. The AD8237 has excellent gain accuracy performance that can be preserved at any gain with two ratio-matched resistors.

The AD8237 employs the indirect current feedback architecture to achieve a true rail-to-rail capability. Unlike conventional in-amps, the AD8237 can fully amplify signals with common-mode voltage at or even slightly beyond its supplies. This enables applications with high common-mode voltages to use smaller supplies and save power.

The AD8237 is an excellent choice for portable systems. With a minimum supply voltage of 1.8 V, a 115 μA typical supply current, and wide input range, the AD8237 makes full use of a limited power budget, yet offers bandwidth and drift performance suitable for bench-top systems.

The EVAL-INAMP-ICF-RMZ offers users the option of evaluating the AD8237 or the AD8420 indirect current feedback (ICF) instrumentation amplifiers individually or connected to adjacent boards in an application. This evaluation board ships with both instrumentation amplifiers in surface-mount MSOP packages.

I've used this part in a programmable gain InAmp configuration (as per the suggested circuit in the datasheet) and the part works very well indeed. The 27KHz switched zero'ing noise is apparent only when switched in to a 1X gain mode, but is sill low enough not to corrupt my high level measurements. I'll be using this part again in the future.

This chip was used in an ecg application. Without much effort, it was able to satisfy the design requirements for my projects. It was extremely effective at removing common mode noise and its small size was perfect for a mobile design. The FB pin was particularly useful for centering the output around a virtual ground and subtracting low frequencies from the signal. Very pleased with this part. Going to order more for a version 2.

Great performance
This chip was used in an ecg application. Without much effort, it was able to satisfy the design requirements for my projects.
