What is Anveshan?

Anveshan is fellowship program conducted by Analog Devices India and on to its 5th edition. Last 4 editions of Anveshan was for university students (only in 2016 we had entries from professionals, entrepreneurs and hobbists) and focused on building or prototyping complete system designs.

What are the timelines, dates and process?

  • Applicants who are interested to participate must submit their application by November 15, 2017.
  • Analog Devices shortlists the applications received and selects a subset of projects by mid December 2017.
  • The round 1 selected teams have conference calls or face to face discussions with Analog Devices mentors to understand and detail the scope of the project further.
  • Finalists will be selected from round 1 teams by mid-January 2017. All finalists will be intimated by phone/email about the decision.
  • For the next 6 months, the finalist teams go through development of their project with the assigned mentors and specialists, have interim milestones, showcase their project to ADI's customer/partner executives and then final demonstration and presentation in July 2018.
  • Winners are selected by a team of esteemed internal and external jury members and awards given in August 2018.

Who is eligible to participate in the Anveshan 2018?

Students in full time Bachelors / Masters program of accredited Indian educational institutions are eligible to participate.

Am I allowed to be a part of multiple teams?

No, you can be part of only one team.

I'm not an Indian citizen and currently studying in an accredited Indian educational institution. Am I eligible to participate in the fellowship?

Yes, as long as you are a full time student of the Indian institution for the duration of Anveshan 2018.

Are we allowed to modify the team composition after entry submission?

This is not generally encouraged. However under special circumstances, decisions will be taken on a case by case basis and will be at the sole discretion of Analog Devices.

Can we have external mentors or guides for the challenge?

Does the whole team have to come over for the final round of presentation?

At least one team member needs to be present at Analog Devices to present your work to the senior technologists during the phase submissions and the whole team is expected (but not a must) to be present during final presentation in July 2018.

How and when will we know the results of the first round?

The results of the first round and the finalists will be declared on the website. The participating teams and the teams who have made it to round 1 and finalists will also be notified through email and phone.

How can we participate in the contest?

Your first step is to register your team on the website. You can then submit your proposal through the submit page of the website. The Anveshan design could also be part of the student's final year project with necessary approvals from the department and faculty advisor.

I'm a sponsored student by an organization. Am I eligible to be a part of a team?

Yes. As long as you are a full time student of your educational institution, you can participate in the fellowship.

I'm currently a full time student but will be passing out of my college before the finals of Anveshan 2018? Am I eligible for the fellowship?

No. You should be a full time student to be able to participate in the finals of Anveshan 2018, which will go till July 2018.

I have submitted a similar solution in another contest / conference / publication? Can I also submit it in Anveshan 2018?

No. Your entry should not have been submitted anywhere else at any time. It should not be copied from any existing source. If at any stage, your proposal is found to violate this criteria, your team may get disqualified from the contest.

Is it valid to form a team with members from different institutions?

The team members must belong to the same institution.

Is it valid to have a single member team?

We have always found that innovation and development cannot be done alone. So the team size should be a minimum of 2 and a maximum of 5 members. In addition, the student teams are encouraged to have a faculty member as an advisor.

Is there a file format for submitting the entry?

Yes. Pdf or Microsoft word file format should be followed. The proposal must be written within 4 single spaced pages, including figures, tables and references. A picture is worth a thousand words, so you are strongly encouraged to use pictures and videos in your proposal.

Is there a limit to the file size?

Yes. The file should not be greater than 5 MB in memory size, and video size is up to 100MB.


What should be the team size?

The team size should be a minimum of 2 and a maximum of 5 members.

Will our entry be valid if I register without submitting a proposal?

No. Proposal submission is the first and a necessary step to enter the contest. We encourage all teams to submit proposals as soon as possible, as it will help us to keep you posted on the latest updates / timelines / changes about the fellowship.

Will there be travel grant to participate in different rounds at Analog Devices?

Analog Devices will fund the project development and travel cost up to a maximum of Rs.1,00,000 (Rs. 1 Lakh) per team.

Will we be provided accommodation to participate in the final round?

It is the duty of the team members to find suitable accommodation. Analog Devices will fund the project development and travel cost up to a maximum of Rs. 1,00,000 per team.
