The LTM2893 is a high speed isolated μModule (micromodule) SPI interface with ADC control signals. The LTM2893 is optimized for isolating 1Msps high resolution 18-bit SAR ADCs, such as the LTC2338 and similar families, and can interface with most general purpose ADCs. The LTM2893-1 is optimized for isolating the LTC2348 and similar families of simultaneous sampling ADCs that require writing configuration settings into the ADC. LTM2893 isolates the conversion start, sampling signal, with very low aperture jitter (30ps) and low latency (20ns).
The interface enables fast throughput with no cycle latency, which makes the LTM2893 ideally suited for a wide variety of applications. The LTM2893 has a high speed SPI-compatible serial port that supports 1.71V to 5.5V logic and is configurable for ADCs with 8 to 32 bit SPI word lengths. It also isolates three select signals (SA, SB, SC) for controlling analog multiplexers or gain settings.
The isolation barrier tolerates large voltage ground variations between the logic interface and the isolated side of the LTM2893. Uninterrupted communication is maintained during voltage transients greater than 50kV/μs.

Demonstration circuit 2542A is a reference design for robust industrial data acquisition applications based on the LTC2358-18. The LTC2358-18 is capable of high voltage measurements with a large input common range; however, the DC2542A implements input protection that allows up to 400V of continuous input protection. Combined with gas discharge tubes, which provide protection from surges, the DC2542A is capable of surviving extreme abuse.

Demonstration circuit 2405A shows an LTM2893 isolating and interfacing an LTC2328-18. The LTM2893 is a high speed SPI isolator for interfacing read only ADCs with a full complement of control signals. The LTC2328-18 is a low noise, high speed 18-bit successive approximation register (SAR) ADC. Low noise isolated power is delivered to the isolated side with an LT3999 push-pull driver and isolation transformer.

Linduino is Analog Devices’ Arduino compatible system for developing and distributing firmware libraries and example code for our integrated circuits. Each Linduino-supported product includes an example main program, defined in the LTSketchbook/Part Number folder and driver code, defined in the LTSketchbook/libraries folder.
ADI has always placed the highest emphasis on delivering products that meet the maximum levels of quality and reliability. We achieve this by incorporating quality and reliability checks in every scope of product and process design, and in the manufacturing process as well. "Zero defects" for shipped products is always our goal.
