The ADRF5250 is a general-purpose, single-pole, five-throw (SP5T), nonreflective switch manufactured using a silicon process. The ADRF5250 is available in a 4 mm × 4 mm, 24-lead lead frame chip scale package (LFCSP) and provides high isolation and low insertion loss from 100 MHz to 6 GHz.
The ADRF5250 incorporates a negative voltage generator to operate with a single positive supply voltage from 3.3 V to 5 V applied to the VDD pin when the VSS pin is connected to ground. The negative voltage generator can be disabled when an external negative supply voltage of −3.3 V is applied to the VSS pin. The ADRF5250 provides a 1.8 V logic-compatible, 3-pin control interface.

Product Lifecycle Recommended for New Designs
This product has been released to the market. The data sheet contains all final specifications and operating conditions. For new designs, ADI recommends utilization of these products.
Evaluation Kits (1)
ADRF5250-EVALZ is a 4-layer, Rogers 4350B based evaluation board. For normal operation, it requires a 3.3V or 5V VDD supply. There is also an incorporated negative supply generator which is enabled or disabled depending on applied VSS supply voltage. When VSS is 0V or -3.3V, negative supply generator is enabled or disabled respectively. The ADRF5250 has 3-bit 1.8V logic compatible control interface which is controlled through V1, V2, V3 test points, TP1, TP2 and TP4. V1 and V3 test points correspond to least significant bit (LSB) and most significant bit (MSB) of digital control interface of ADRF5250.
The modes of RF paths are determined per Digital Control Voltage Truth Table which can be found in the ADRF5250 data sheet. Further details can be found in the Applications Information section of the ADRF5250 data sheet.
Tools & Simulations
ADIsimRF is an easy-to-use RF signal chain calculator. Cascaded gain, noise, distortion and power consumption can be calculated, plotted and exported for signal chains with up to 50 stages. ADIsimRF also includes an extensive data base of device models for ADI’s RF and mixed signal components.
ADI has always placed the highest emphasis on delivering products that meet the maximum levels of quality and reliability. We achieve this by incorporating quality and reliability checks in every scope of product and process design, and in the manufacturing process as well. "Zero defects" for shipped products is always our goal.
