The AD74413R is a quad-channel software configurable input/output solution for building and process control applications. The AD74413R contains functionality for analog output, analog input, digital input, resistance temperature detector (RTD), and thermocouple measurements integrated into a single chip solution with a serial peripheral interface (SPI).

The device features a 16-bit, Σ-Δ analog-to-digital converter (ADC) and four configurable, 13-bit digital-to-analog converters (DACs) to provide four configurable input/output channels and a suite of diagnostic functions.

The AD5755-1 is a quad, voltage and current output digital-to-analog converter (DAC) that operates with a power supply range from −26.4 V to +33 V. On-chip dynamic power control minimizes package power dissipation in current mode. This is achieved by regulating the voltage on the output driver from 7.4 V to 29.5 V using a dc-to-dc boost converter optimized for minimum on-chip power dissipation. Each channel has a corresponding CHART pin so that HART signals can be coupled onto the current output of the AD5755-1.

The device uses a versatile 3-wire serial interface that operates at clock rates of up to 30 MHz and is compatible with standard SPI, QSPI™, MICROWIRE™, DSP, and microcontroller interface standards. The interface also features optional CRC-8 packet error checking, as well as a watchdog timer that monitors activity on the interface.

The AD4110-1 is a complete, single-channel, universal input analog-to-digital front end for industrial process control systems where sensor type flexibility is required.

The high voltage input is fully software configurable for current or voltage signals and allows direct interface to all standard industrial analog signal sources such as ±20 mA, ±4 mA to ±20 mA, ±10 V, and all thermocouple types. Field power can be supplied for loop powered current output sensors. A range of excitation current sources for resistance temperature detector (RTD) sensors and other resistive sensors are included. The integrated, fully differential programmable gain amplifier (PGA) offers 16 gain settings from 0.2 to 24.

The high voltage input can be programmed to power up in either voltage mode or current mode. When programmed to current mode, the unique input circuit architecture provides a path for the loop current, even in the absence of the system module power supply.

The AD4110-1 provides internal, front-end diagnostic functions to indicate overvoltage, undervoltage, open wire, overcurrent, and overtemperature conditions. The high voltage input is thermally protected, overcurrent limited, and overvoltage protected.

The AD4110-1 incorporates a precision 24-bit, Σ-Δ, analog-todigital converter (ADC) offering conversion rates from 5 SPS to 125 kSPS with simultaneous 50 Hz and 60 Hz noise rejection.

The ADP1032 is a high performance, isolated micropower management unit (PMU) that combines an isolated flyback and a dc-to-dc regulator providing two isolated power rails. Additionally, the ADP1032 contains four high speed serial peripheral interface (SPI) isolation channels and three general-purpose isolators for channel to channel applications where low power dissipation and small solution size is required. Operating over an input voltage range of 4.5 V to 60 V, the ADP1032 generates isolated output voltages of 6 V to 28 V (adjustable version) or 24 V (fixed version) for V_OUT1, and factory programmable voltages of 5.15 V, 5.0 V, or 3.3 V for V_OUT2. 

By default, the ADP1032 flyback regulator operates at a 250 kHz switching frequency, and the buck regulator operates at 125 kHz. 

The two regulators are phase shifted relative to each other to reduce electromagnetic interference (EMI). The ADP1032 can be driven by an external oscillator in the range of 350 kHz to 750 kHz to ease noise filtering in sensitive applications. 

The digital isolators integrated in the ADP1032 use Analog Devices, Inc., iCoupler^® chip scale transformer technology, optimized for low power and low radiated emissions. The ADP1032 is available in a 9 mm × 7 mm, 41-lead LFCSP and is rated for a −40°C to +125°C operating junction temperature range. 

The ADuM141D¹ is a quad-channel digital isolator based on Analog Devices, Inc., iCoupler^® technology. Combining high speed, complementary metal-oxide semiconductor (CMOS) and monolithic air core transformer technology, these isolation components provide outstanding performance characteristics superior to alternatives such as optocoupler devices and other integrated couplers. The maximum propagation delay is 13 ns with a pulse width distortion of less than 3 ns at 5 V operation. Channel matching is tight at 3.0 ns maximum.

The ADuM141D data channels are independent and are available in a variety of configurations with a withstand voltage rating of 3.0 kV rms or 3.75 kV rms (see the Ordering Guide). The devices operate with the supply voltage on either side ranging from 1.8 V to 5 V, providing compatibility with lower voltage systems as well as enabling voltage translation functionality across the isolation barrier.

Unlike other optocoupler alternatives, dc correctness is ensured in the absence of input logic transitions. Two different fail-safe options are available, by which the outputs transition to a predetermined state when the input power supply is not applied or the inputs are disabled. The ADuM140E1/ADuM141E1/ADuM142E1 is pin-compatible with the ADuM1400/ADuM1401/ADuM1402.

The LT3800 is a 200kHz fixed frequency high voltage synchronous current mode step-down switching regulator controller. The IC drives standard gate N-channel power MOSFETs and can operate with input voltages from 4V to 60V. An onboard regulator provides IC power directly from V_IN and provides for output-derived power to minimize V_IN quiescent current. MOSFET drivers employ an internal dynamic bootstrap feature, maximizing gate-source "ON" voltages during normal operation for improved operating efficiencies. The LT3800 incorporates Burst Mode operation, which reduces no load quiescent current to under 100µA. Light load efficiencies are also improved through a reverse inductor current inhibit, allowing the controller to support discontinuous operation. Both Burst Mode operation and the reverse-current inhibit features can be disabled if desired. The LT3800 incorporates a programmable soft-start that directly controls the voltage slew rate of the converter output for reduced startup surge currents and overshoot errors. The LT3800 is available in a 16-lead thermally enhanced TSSOP package.

The AD5758 is a single-channel, voltage and current output digital-to-analog converter (DAC) that operates with a power supply range from −33 V (minimum) on AVSS to +33 V (maximum) on AVDD1 with a maximum operating voltage between the two rails of 60 V. On-chip dynamic power control (DPC) minimizes package power dissipation, which is achieved by regulating the supply voltage (V_DPC+) to the VI_OUT output driver circuitry from 5 V to 27 V using a buck dc-to-dc converter, optimized for minimum on-chip power dissipation. The C_HART pin enables a HART^® signal to be coupled onto the current output.

The device uses a versatile 4-wire serial peripheral interface (SPI) that operates at clock rates of up to 50 MHz and is compatible with standard SPI, QSPI^™, MICROWIRE^™, DSP, and microcontroller interface standards. The interface also features an optional SPI cyclic redundancy check (CRC) and a watchdog timer (WDT). The AD5758 offers improved diagnostic features from its predecessors, such as an integrated 12-bit diagnostic analog-to-digital converter (ADC). Additional robustness is provided by the inclusion of a line protector on the VI_OUT, +V_SENSE, and −V_SENSE pins. When used with its companion power management unit (PMU)/isolator (ADP1031), the AD5758 is capable of enabling customers to develop an eight channel to channel isolated analog output module with less than 2 W power dissipation, while meeting CISPR 11 Class B.

The AD-SWIOT1L-SL provides a complete software and hardware platform for prototyping intelligent, secure, network capable field devices.

The design incorporates the AD74413R Quad-Channel, Software Configurable Input and Output and the MAX14906 Quad-Channel Industrial Digital Output/Digital Input ICs, allowing the multiplexing of several analog and digital functions on four channels which can be independently configurable through software to act as:

• current output / input
• digital input / output
• RTD measurement

A 10 Mbps single-pair Ethernet link, using the ADIN1110 10BASE-T1L MAC/PHY, enables remote data acquisition and device configuration. The 10BASE-T1L interface can also be used for powering the system via the Single-pair Power over Ethernet (SPoE) technology using the LTC9111 Powered Device (PD) controller. This way, power and data for the system is provided over the same cable to significantly simplify the cabling infrastructure and cost.

For applications requiring high current capabilities, the system can be powered from an external 24 V supply and up to 1.2 A can be output on any of the channels configured as digital outputs. The power supply solution also includes the ADP1032 high performance, isolated micropower management unit (PMU) to provide power and digital control for software configurable I/O devices in one of the most compact formats. The LT8304 Micropower No-Opto Isolated Flyback Converter completes the power tree to provide isolated power to the digital part of the design.

The on-board MAX32650 Ultralow Power ARM^® Cortex^®-M4 Microcontroller exposes all the necessary debug and programming features to enable a complete software development experience with the system. It is coupled with a 1 Gb (128 MB) external RAM and a 64 Mb (8 MB) external flash memory to meet the most demanding applications and provide the flexibility to implement any protocol stack. Security features are enabled by the MAXQ1065 security coprocessor.

The system is accompanied by an open-source software stack and associated collateral, enabling a complete experience from evaluation and prototyping all the way to production firmware and applications development. An external programmer such as the MAX32625PICO MAXDAP Programming Adapter, or any other similar programmer supporting the SWD interface, is required to enable firmware programming and debug. The system’s firmware is based on Analog Devices’ open-source no-OS framework which includes all the tools required for embedded code development and debugging as well as libraries enabling host-side connectivity for system configuration and data transfer over the UART or the 10BASE-T1L interfaces. A PC application with a user-friendly graphical interface is provided to enable easy system configuration and displaying the acquired data in different ways.
