The Blackfin Low-power Imaging Platform (BLIP) is a low cost, low power embedded computer vision platform targeting a vast array of real-time sensing applications. BLIP leverages the latest entry within the industry-leading, low power Blackfin processor family as well as Analog Devices’ optimized software library deliverables. This solution offers end equipment manufacturers an out of the box form factor development platform with multiple functional profiles covering intelligent motion sensing, people counting, vehicle detection, and face detection deployable in both indoor and outdoor use cases. The BLIP system includes an intuitive configuration GUI and enables real-time analysis of captured video, as well as video output/display through an on-board USB port, making it a highly valuable tool for product development. Additionally, the associated documentation package is well positioned to help customers accelerate their time to market.

Software Module

OBSOLETE: People Counter on BLIP is an ideal solution to get data related to people entering and exiting a specified area that can be used to drive several business analytics. People Counter product counts the number of entries and exits of people in a specified area based on the direction of movement.

The Video Occupancy Sensor library for the Blackfin processor provides a suite of functions that use input from Vision Sensors to detect occupancy or presence of humans or vehicles in outdoor spaces such as parking lots.
The Image Processing Toolbox library for the Blackfin processor implements a set of image processing primitives designed to enable faster development of complex image or video processing solutions.
Blackfin HOG SVM Detector
The Indoor Occupancy Sensor is an application that detects room or location occupancy for different types of user applications. Some examples are energy saving applications that control lights and air conditioning depending on occupancy. The Indoor Occupancy Sensor needs to identify people and not other moving objects such as papers, plants, fans.
