Obsolete

Passive frequency doubler chip and surface mount technology (SMT), 0.7 GHz to 2.4 GHz input

Overview

  • Conversion loss: 15 dB
  • FO, 3FO, 4FO isolation: 38 dB
  • Input drive level: 10 dBm to 20 dBm

The HMC156A devices are miniature frequency doublers that are available in a monolithic microwave integrated circuit (MMIC) die (HMC156A), and a nonhermetic, ceramic surface mount package (HMC156AC8). Suppression of undesired fundamental and higher order harmonics is 38 dB typical with respect to input signal levels. The doubler uses the same diode/balun technology used in Hittite MMIC mixers, features small size, and requires no dc bias.

Applications

  • Wireless local loop
  • Local multipoint distribution systems (LMDS)
  • Very small aperture terminal (VSAT)
  • Point-to-point radios
  • Unlicensed National Information Infrastructure (U-NII) and high performance radio LAN (HiperLAN)
  • Test equipment
