The DS28E05 is a 112-byte user-programmable EEPROM organized as 7 pages of 16 bytes each. Memory pages can be individually set to write protected or EPROM emulation mode through protection byte settings. Each part has its own guaranteed unique 64-bit ROM identification number (ROM ID) that is factory programmed into the chip. The DS28E05 communicates over Maxim Integrated's single contact 1-Wire® interface at overdrive speed with the ROM ID acting as node address in the case of a multiple-device 1-Wire network.

Evaluation Kit for the DS28E05
Product Detail
The DS28E05 evaluation kit (EV Kit) provides the hardware and software necessary to evaluate and program the DS28E05 1-Wire EEPROM. EV Kit operation requires a host PC for user-friendly evaluation.
This evaluation system includes a DS9481R-3C7 USB to 1-Wire PC adapter, a DS9120P+ evaluation socket board for a TSOC DS28E05, and five DS28E05 sample devices in a TSOC package. The EV software runs on Windows® 8, Windows 7, Windows Vista®, and Windows XP® operating systems. Detailed instructions for downloading and installing software, as well as general EV system operation are included in the EV kit data sheet.
