The AD3300 device is an automotive qualified 10BASE-T1S Ethernet solution implementing an IEEE 802.3-2022 compliant PHY with integrated MAC functionality for deterministic communication on single pair Ethernet networks.
The device supports half-duplex Ethernet communication over a single balanced pair of conductors in shared-medium network topologies comprising two or more nodes with Physical Layer Collision Avoidance, enabling controlled access on shared bus systems with predictable and deterministic latency.
The AD3303 is designed for distributed edge connectivity in automotive zonal or domain architectures, targeting sensor and actuator networks and low cost bus implementations. Common features include support for time synchronization using IEEE 802.1AS and IEEE 1588 mechanisms, TC14/TC10 Sleep/Wake-up, robust EMC and noise performance, and operation across wide supply and temperature ranges. Integrated diagnostics, wake up handling, and fault monitoring support reliable operation in automotive environments.
The AD3300 supports dual mode operation, combining MAC-PHY functionality with an Ethernet to Edge Bus Remote Control Protocol implementation. It provides an OPEN Alliance MAC-PHY serial interface (OA-SPI), transmit priority queues, and MAC filtering capabilities. The device allows simultaneous operation of the Ethernet engine and host interface.
