Product Details

The EV-21569-SOM enables customers with low-cost evaluation and rapid prototyping of the ADSP-2156× Family (ADSP-21562/21563/21565/21566/21567/21569) of SHARC audio processors. It provides an easy-to-use plug-n-play reference design with all the key interfaces made available for customers to interface to from their own custom hardware ahead of the release of the processor itself. The EV-21569-SOM can also be plugged into the EV-SOMCRR-EZKIT carrier board for fast and easy evaluation of the processor core and system peripherals/interfaces. The EV-21569-SOM and EV-SOMCRR-EZKIT boards may be purchased as a bundle (EV-21569-EZKIT), providing a full evaluation system.

The EV-21569-SOM ships with all of the necessary hardware to get the user up and running to enable fast prototyping for a wide range of applications including immersive 3D sound and personal audio zones (PAZ), automotive active and road noise cancellation (ANC/RNC), voice-based user-interfaces and in-car communications (ICC), engine sound synthesis (ESS) and electric vehicle warning sound systems (EVWSS/AVAS). Additional applications include professional audio and soundbars / home AVRs (with 3D Object and Multi-Channel Audio) and enhanced conferencing systems. ADI offers several software modules (e.g., AEC/NR, microphone beamforming, pitch shifting, harmonic generators, wave players etc.), as well as complete software solutions that can be licensed, where users can develop/evaluate their audio and voice processing applications. ADI also offers 3rd party surround sound solutions that can be licensed on ADI’s SHARC processor families. Please visit ADI’s Software Solutions page for more information.

The EV-21569-SOM module utilizes the CrossCore® Embedded Studio (CCES) development tools to enable developers to achieve faster time to market. The development environment aids advanced application code development and debug, such as:

  • Create, compile, assemble, and link application programs written in C++, C, and assembly
  • Load, run, step, halt, and set breakpoints in application programs
  • Read and write data and program memory
  • Read and write core and peripheral registers

System Requirements

Verify that your PC has these minimum requirements for the CCES installation:

  • 2 GHz single core processor; 3.3GHz dual core or better recommended
  • 4 GB RAM; 8GB or more recommended
  • 2 GB available disk space
  • One open USB port
  • CrossCore® Embedded Studio 2.9.3 or later

Note: Please see the CrossCore® Embedded Studio Release Notes for the latest information about System Requirements.

EV-21569-EZKIT Board Support Package – Current Release (Rev. 1.0.0)

Software Development Tools

CrossCore Embedded Studio is a world-class integrated development environment (IDE) for the ADI Blackfin®, SHARC® and Arm® processor families.

Future releases of CrossCore Serial Flash Programmer will be distributed as part of the CrossCore Utilities product. CrossCore Utilities provides several utilities for use with Cortex-M processors. These utilities have previously been distributed within various Board Support Packages for the IAR and Keil toolchains, and are collected together in this product for convenient maintenance.

Middleware

HCC Embedded’s TCP/IP stack provides all main protocols and supports both IPv4 and IPv6

Linux kernel and development tools for the ADSP-SC5xx processor family

HCC Embedded’s FAT file system is full-featured and optimized for use in embedded applications that need to attach FAT 12/16/32-compliant media to a product.

FreeRTOS for Analog Devices Processors is a Real Time Operating System for Analog Devices Processors.

HCC Embedded’s USB stacks are mature, widely-used stacks that can support almost any desired USB configuration.

The Lightweight TCP/IP (lwIP) Stack for CrossCore Embedded Studio is an implementation of this widely accepted TCP/IP stack for embedded platforms supporting most of the networking protocols in the TCP/IP suite.
