Frequently Asked Questions About Sample Requests
What is Analog devices sample policy?
Analog Devices is pleased to offer a limited amount of free samples to qualified customers. Samples usually ship from an Analog Devices warehouse within 24 hours if they are in stock. Website registration is required to request free samples, and you must use a company or university email domain address when registering. Use of a free or 3rd party email account is not allowed for samples requests.
Which Analog Devices products can I sample?
We offer many of our products to sample online. Some exceptions are special material manufactured for a single customer, parts that are on allocation or some very low volume parts. If you would like to order a part that is not available, you may be able to purchase it on the web through Buy Online or you can contact one of our authorized distributors.
How do I request samples online?
Step 1: Locate the part(s) you need, either from the Product Page, or by choosing the Samples link at the top of the Analog Devices home page. Once you have chosen your parts, you will then be re-directed to the shopping cart.
Step 2: After you have chosen your part(s), click on the checkout button.
Step 3: If you are already registered, you will be prompted to login. If you are not registered on the Analog Devices website, you will be asked to register and complete the checkout process. There is an easy 4 step check out process to complete your sample request. You will receive an order acknowledgment after your sample request has been received and a ship notice email when it is shipped.
Which countries are allowed to place sample requests?
Please see the sample country availability list for more information.
Can I request samples with a 3rd party email account (such as Yahoo or Hotmail)?
We're sorry, but online sample requests will only be accepted from valid email addresses that originate from a company (example: joe.smith@ABCcompany.com) or from an educational institution (example: joe.smith@ABCuniversity.edu). Analog Devices cannot accept sample requests from accounts that have been created using third-party email providers, such as Yahoo, Hotmail, MSN, and AOL.
Do I need to register before I can request samples?
Yes. If you are not already registered on Analog Devices website, then you will be asked to register. If you are already registered, you will be prompted to login with your username and password. Only one account per person is allowed. For questions concerning our privacy policy, please visit our Privacy & Security Statement.
How many pieces am I allowed to request?
Analog Devices offers a limited amount of free samples to qualified customers. Due to the large demand for our product samples we ask that you limit your sample request to 2 pieces per part with a maximum of 4 parts per request within a 14 day time period. Should your design needs require additional product quantities, you can purchase them on the web through Buy Online, or you can contact one of our authorized distributors.

All sample requests placed online are free of charge.

Yes. Please review the Analog Devices Terms and Conditions before placing a sample request.
How do I know if you received my sample request?
You will receive an order acknowledgement email from Analog Devices that will confirm that we have received your sample request. Allow up to a few hours to receive the email. If you do not receive an order acknowledgement email, you can check the status of your request by visiting the Samples homepage and clicking on the Check Status of Sample Requests and Orders link. If you do not receive the order acknowledgment email, please contact our Customer Service department and they will check the system.
What if I forgot my password?
If you are a registered user on the Analog Devices web site and forgot your password, please click Forgot Password? located on the login page.
How do I check the status of my sample request?
If you have placed a sample request and would like to check the status, simply click on the Check Status link located on the Samples homepage. You will need to be logged in to access your request status.
How do I track my samples shipment?
Click on the Check Status located on the Samples homepage to display your sample requests. Samples requests that have been shipped will display under Samples - Recent Completed Orders.
Select the Order Number to see shipment details. If available, you will see a tracking number labeled "Track". Click on the tracking number and you will be linked to the carrier's web site - where you will be able to track your shipment.
There may be a delay (approximately 4-5 business days) between when the tracking number is available on our web site and when you are able to track the shipment at the carrier's web site. Analog Devices consolidates shipments between regions - and you will be able track at the carrier's web site after the shipment has cleared customs and the carrier has picked up the shipment in your region.
What is my Analog Devices Order Number?
Once your sample request is placed in our system for processing, we assign an Analog Devices Order number for reference. If you have any questions pertaining to your request you will need this number when you contact the Analog Devices' Customer Service department.
Are all samples shipped as requested?
Analog Devices reviews sample requests prior to shipping and may cancel a sample request if the sample process is being misused or sample product is no longer available.
Why was an invoice not sent with my request?
Since there is no cost to the customer for samples, invoices are not sent for sample requests. Simply click on the Check Status of Sample Requests and Orders link located on the Samples homepage to display information for your sample request.
When will my items be shipped?
Most in stock items ship within 24 hours after the request is received. After placing your request, you will receive an acknowledgement by email with the details of your request ship date and expected delivery. Please note the warehouse location for the product requested. Our warehouses are located in the United States, Europe and Southeast Asia. Note: We do take requests for items that are not in stock, so the delivery date may be scheduled at a future date. The confirmation and delivery email you receive will provide more detail when it becomes available.

The online sample system will be available for sample requests and checking account and request status 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. However, our shipping departments are only open Monday through Friday.
How is the delivery date determined?
Analog Devices ships samples as soon as they are available in the warehouse - on a first come, first served basis.
The delivery dates we provide are current and can vary over time as product schedules change and as new product becomes available to ship.
When Analog Devices ships products from a warehouse outside of your country, it may take up to 4-5 business days for the shipment to reach your country and clear customs. This time is in addition to the expected delivery carrier time (for example in the US, there may be 5 business days for transport and customs clearance + UPS 2-day shipping = 7 days in transit).
