Since 2004, GMSL links have altogether traveled over 20 trillion kilometers, or more than two light years, improving road safety, user interfaces, and cabin entertainment for millions of people. GMSL features robust PHY and extremely low BER. It supports high resolution and low latency camera and display connectivity requirements as well as flexible topologies via video splitting, daisy chaining, and sensor data aggregation. It is a highly scalable and flexible solution, delivering footprint compatible speed options and allows for backwards compatibility to the previous GMSL generation.
GMSL is also a budget conscious solution, as video, audio, control, data, and power can be transported on a single channel. It enables Video splitting as well as daisy-chained displays. Supportive of ASIL B-rated devices and meeting stringent EMI/EMC requirements, GMSL is a functional safe solution with real-time link diagnostic capabilities to ensure reliable and optimized system operations. Its energy efficiency enables lightweight designs and reduced energy consumption and emissions, helping to ensure low power and material wastage across the product lifespan.
