The LTC4249 dual electronic circuit breaker (ECB) provides independent overcurrent protection to a pair of loads. Each channel has a precision enable input, current monitor output and ready status output. A single resistor configures the ECB threshold. If either channel detects an overcurrent condition, the corresponding breaker disconnects the input from the load.
After a circuit breaker event, the open-drain RDY status output pulls low and the ECB latches off. Toggling the enable input turns the ECB back on after a 1 second cooloff period. An infinite retry option(–2) is also available. The cool-off timer, overtemperature sensor, short-circuit detector and inrush controller prevent operation outside the safe operating area of the circuit breakers.
Precision enable inputs, ready outputs and analog current monitor outputs permit voltage sequencing and closed loop bias current control applications. ECB channels may be paralleled as needed. Load isolation and reverse current detection applications are also possible.

Evaluation Kits (1)
The DC2733 is a demonstration system for the LTC4249, 65V Dual Electronic Circuit Breaker with Current Monitors. The LTC4249 provides dual independent 1.2A, 75mΩ circuit breakers that can function independently or work together in parallel. Each circuit breaker channel has its own enable, ready, and IMON pins.
The DC2733 demo board gives access to both channels of the LTC4249, including the independent RDY and IMON outputs and the EN inputs. Resistors at the IMON pins set the circuit breaker thresholds as well as the IMON current-to-voltage gains. The IC draws power from the IN1 input.
