The ADP2441 / ADP2442 is a constant frequency, current mode control, synchronous, step-down, dc-to-dc regulator that is capable of driving loads of up to 1 A with excellent line and load regulation characteristics. The ADP2442 operates with a wide input voltage range from 4.5 V to 36 V, which makes it ideal for regulating power from a wide variety of sources. In addition, the ADP2442 has very low minimum on time (50 ns) and is, therefore, suitable for applications requiring a very high step-down ratio.

The output voltage can be adjusted from 0.6 V to 0.9 × VIN. High efficiency is obtained with integrated low resistance N-channel MOSFETs for both high-side and low-side devices.

The switching frequency is adjustable from 300 kHz to 1 MHz with an external resistor. The ADP2442 also has an accurate power-good (PGOOD) open-drain output signal.

The ADP2442 offers the flexibility of external clock synchronization. The switching frequency can be synchronized to an external clock, applied to the SYNC/MODE pin. The ADP2442 can also be configured to operate in the forced fixed frequency mode for low EMI or power saving mode to reduce the switching losses at light load.

The ADP2442 uses hiccup mode to protect the IC from short circuits or from overcurrent conditions on the output. The internal soft start limits inrush current during startup for a wide variety of load capacitances. Other key features include input undervoltage lockout (UVLO), thermal shutdown (TSD), and precision enable (EN), which can also be used as a logic level shutdown input.

The ADP2442 is available in a 3 mm × 3 mm, 12-lead LFCSP package and is rated for a junction temperature range from −40°C to +125°C.

    The AD-FMCADC7-EBZ is a single channel high speed data acquisition board featuring the AD9625 12bit, ADC sampling at 2500 MSPS and a ADL5567 low distortion, 4.8 GHz, differential amplifier driving the converter. The FMC form factor supports the JESD204B high speed serial interface. All clocking is supported using the on-board ADF4355-2 wideband PLL with VCO. This product is designed for sampling wide bandwidth analog signals from DC to 1.8GHz. The combination of wide input bandwidth, high sampling rate, and excellent linearity of the AD9625 is ideally suited for spectrum analyzers, data acquisition systems, and a wide assortment of military electronics applications.


    The board meets most of the FMC specifications in terms of mechanical size, mounting hole locations, and more. Although this board does meet most of the FMC specifications, it’s not meant as a commercial off the shelf (COTS) board. If you want a commercial, ready to integrate product, please refer to one of the many FMC manufacturers and the FMC specification (ANSI/VITA 57.1).


    This board is targeted to use the ADI reference designs that work with Xilinx development systems. ADI provides complete source (HDL and software) to re-create those projects (minus the IP provided by the FPGA vendors, which we use), but may not provide enough info to port this to your custom platform.


    The design of the board is specifically tailored to allow for true DC coupling on the analog input of the amplifier throughout the signal chain to the converter. Yielding the widest spectrum possible for the AD-FMCADC7-EBZ.


    The reference design includes the device data capture via the JESD204B serial interface and the SPI interface. The samples are written to the external DDR-DRAM. It allows programming the device and monitoring it’s internal registers via SPI.

    The ADP2442-EVALZ evaluation board is a complete, dc-to-dc switching regulator design based on the ADP2442, a configurable, 1 A, synchronous, step-down dc-to-dc regulator.

    The ADP2442 is a synchronous, step-down dc-to-dc switching regulator that uses a current mode pulse-width modulation (PWM) control scheme. The ADP2442 can be configured for pulse skip mode at light load or forced PWM mode. The power switch and synchronous rectifier are integrated for minimal external part count and high efficiency. The ADP2442 is optimized for operation with small ferrite core inductors and ceramic capacitors to deliver the maximum output power per square millimeter of the printed circuit board (PCB) area.

    The ADP2442-EVALZ is available with 5 V at a 1 A output, with a switching frequency set to 500 kHz. If needed, the ADP2442- EVALZ configuration can be modified by changing the values of the appropriate passive components.
