ADuM4470 / ADuM4471 / ADuM4472 / ADuM4473 / ADuM4474 is a four-channel digital isolator with integrated regulated DC-DC isolated power supply controller and integrated internal MOSFET driver. The DC/DC controller has a built-in isolated PWM feedback on the primary side, using iCoupler® chip-level transformer technology and complete loop compensation. It is not necessary to use an optocoupler for feedback and to compensate the loop for stability.

Compared to unregulated isolated DC/DC power supplies, ADuM447x isolators can provide a more stable output voltage and higher efficiency. It is packaged in a wide-body SOIC, fully integrated feedback and loop compensation, providing a smaller size and 8.3 mm creepage distance solution. Regulated feedback can provide a relatively flat efficiency curve over the entire output power range. AduM3070 can enable a DC/DC converter with an isolated output voltage range of 3.3 V to 24 V from an input voltage of 5.0 V or 3.3 V, with an output power of 2.5 W

ADuM447x isolators provide four independent isolation channels, supporting multiple channel configurations and data rates. (The ADuM447x mentioned in this data sheet represents ADuM4470 / ADuM4471 / ADuM4472 / ADuM4473 / ADuM4474)

APPLICATIONS

  • Power startup bias and gate drive

Product Details

The EVAL-ADuM4471EBZ board can be used for different applications of the ADuM447x iCoupler isolated switching regulators. With the ability to be configured as a circuit with either single- (default) or double-supply output, the board supports a variety of input/output configurations and multiple transformer options. It is equipped with an ADuM4471 switching regulator (ADuM4471ARIZ) for voltage isolation, but can also be used with ADuM4470ARIZ, ADuM4472ARIZ, ADuM4473ARIZ, or ADuM4474ARIZ. The regulator features integrated feedback and a switching frequency that can be set from 200 kHz to 1000 kHz.

The user guide provides all the necessary details to set up and use the EVAL-ADuM4471EBZ board. Although the EVAL-ADuM4471EBZ comes with the ADuM4471 switching regulator on board, the printed circuit board (PCB) is designed for compatibility with the entire ADuM447x family. Additional information about the supported iCoupler devices is available in the ADuM4470/ADuM4471/ADuM4472/ADuM4473/ADuM4474 data sheet, which should be consulted in conjunction with this user guide when using the EVAL-ADuM4471EBZ board.
