iple switch elements with various signal ranges in a variety of packages to best suit customer application needs. ADI switches and multiplexers are used in a wide and growing range of applications from industrial and instrumentation to medical, consumer, communications, and automotive systems.
Crosspoint Switches
Analog Devices offers a range of both analog and digital crosspoint switches designed for high speed
signal routing across various applications. Analog video crosspoint switches are used for transmitting composite (NTSC, PAL, SECAM) and component (YUV, RGB) video signals in environments such as studios, video on demand systems, in-flight entertainment, surveillance, and video teleconferencing. The X-stream™ family of digital crosspoint and 2:1 mux/demux switches is optimized for high performance data transmission in WDM, enterprise, and metro networking systems, including those used by ISPs, data centers, telecom central offices, and storage area networks.
Digital Switches & Multiplexers
Analog Devices offers both buffered and passive switches targeting digital signal applications. The
Xstream family of buffered digital mux/demux switches offers low loss, low power consumption, and high speed fully differential performance up to 6.5 Gbps. They are for applications like serial link redundancy, SONET/SHD, 10 Gigabit Ethernet, and PCI Express. In addition, ADI offers a selection of passive wide bandwidth digital switches designed for PCI Express Gen 1/Gen 2/Gen 3, SAS/SATA, and HDMI/DVI signal routing up to 8 Gbps. They offer several channel configurations including multiples of DPDT and SPDT switches in a single package for maximum flexibility in high channel count applications.
Fault Protected Switches & Multiplexers
Analog Devices’ portfolio of fault-protected switches and multiplexers includes products that can be
used for overvoltage protection, power off protection, high ESD, and latchup proof performance in applications such as automotive, instrumentation, aerospace, and defense. As well as being optimized for robustness and protection, they offer high performance in industry-leading small packages.
MEMS Switches
Analog Devices’ microelectromechanical systems (MEMS) switches offer excellent reliability with supe
rior precision and RF performance from 0 Hz (DC) to mmWave frequencies. They require only a low voltage, low current power supply and have fully independent parallel/SPI logic control interfaces. These MEMS switches come in standard, space-saving, surface-mount SMD plastic packages. Their exceptional low insertion loss and wide bandwidth make them well suited for a growing range of applications from industrial and instrumentation to advanced wireless and data communication including high speed digital standards such as MIPI and PCI Express (PCIe).
