A battery management system (BMS) closely monitors and manages the state of charge and state of health of a multicell battery string. For the large, high-voltage battery packs in EVs, accurate monitoring of each individual battery cell and overall pack parameters is critical to achieving maximum usable capacity, while ensuring safe and reliable EV operation. The quality of a BMS directly impacts the miles per charge an EV can deliver. In maximizing the lifetime value of the battery, our solutions help reduce the cost of EV ownership.

Our system level solutions for wired and wireless BMS include not only hardware, but also a completely new wireless protocol stack that supports over-the-air software updates and achieves the highest automotive cybersecurity qualification (ISO 21434 CAL-4). Our BMS solutions leverage precision voltage and current measurement, edge processing, embedded software, and robust connectivity to deliver improved vehicle range, battery energy density, and charge capacity, as well as better battery lifecycle management and data insights.
Our wireless BMS (wBMS) solutions reduce the mechanical challenges, points of failure, and costs of the traditional wired harness, without compromising on accuracy, performance or safety. They deliver more flexibility and modularity to battery packs designs and enable OEMs to leverage robotic manufacturing capabilities to scale EV production. Achieving the highest automotive cybersecurity qualification (ISO 21434 CAL4), these solutions not only help maximize energy use per cell, but also support sustainable zero-cobalt battery chemistries. Our wBMS aids in faster battery pack servicing and disassembly and helps enable a seamless transition to battery second life.
