Product Details

The MAX77978 evaluation kit (EV kit) is a fully assembled and tested printed circuit board (PCB) that evaluates the MAX77978 Standalone USB Type-C® and Power Delivery Controller.

The EV kit contains the MAX77963 charger to demonstrate the MAX77978's I2C controller feature. The MAX77963 is a buck-boost charger designed for 2S/3S Li+ battery applications. It can operate with input voltages ranging from 3.5V to 23V and features a maximum programmable fast-charging current of 3.2A.

The MAX42403 buck converter is installed on the EV kit to provide 5V to the VCIN pin. The MAX77963 uses SYS to enable the buck converter.

The EV kit includes the IC evaluation board, which features an integrated I2C-communication interface and a USB micro-B cable. Windows®-based graphical user interface (GUI) software is available with the EV kit and can be downloaded from the Analog Devices website at www.analog.com. The EV kit software requires a Windows 7 or newer operating system.
