Clock & Data Recovery
Analog Devices provides discrete rate, multirate, and continuous tuning clock and data recovery ICs
for equipment designs, including metro, long haul, DWDM, and FSO applications. ADI CDRs allow easy integration into protocol agnostic applications, automatically locking onto incoming data streams at any rate between 12.3 Mbps to 2.7 Gbps without the aid of a reference clock while reporting the acquired data rate over the I2C interface.
Clocks
Analog Devices offers ultralow jitter clock generation, distribution, and synchronization products f
or various applications. ADI clock products are ideal for clocking high performance analog-to-digital converters (ADCs), digital-to-analog converters (DACs), or peripheral digital devices. ADI clock ICs integrate PLL cores, dividers, phase offset, skew adjust, clock drivers, time-to-digital converters, and other features in small chip scale packages.
Fanout Buffers
Fanout buffers are able to create multiple copies of an input signal at their output and distribute
them among several loads. Analog Devices offers a broad portfolio with fast rise/fall time, low jitter, adjustable output voltage, and multiple interfaces.
Oscillators
Analog Devices offers a broad portfolio of oscillators ranging from voltage-controlled oscillators (
VCO) with excellent phase noise performance, wideband options, and multiple output choices, to silicon oscillators with programmable frequencies via pin-strapping, resistor connections, or serial interfaces (SPI or I2C). Silicon oscillators are solid-state clocks that are well-suited for general purposes, such as PGAs, ASICs, and microprocessors while also being ideal for switching regulator clocking as they provide synchronization and EMI reduction (via spread spectrum).
Pulse & PWM Generators
Analog Devices’ programmable pulse-width modulators (PWM) and pulse generators offer the ability to
easily control output duty cycle with a single input voltage. Offering duty cycles from 0% to 100% and a wide range of adjustable output frequencies, these small low power devices are ideal for simplifying applications including light dimming, isolated proportional control, efficient load control, and more.
Real Time Clocks & Timers
Real-time clock (RTC) ICs are used in electronic circuits to keep track of time relative to the “rea
l” world. Maintaining accurate time is critical, especially under periods of severe system stress or when the power of the main device is off. ADIsimDDS calculates the required FTW, given the reference clock frequency and desired output frequency.
