The miniaturization of electronic technology has resulted in the proliferation of IoT, portable, and wearable devices in applications that were unimaginable only a few years ago. To synchronize their activities with the real world in which we live, accurate and reliable timekeeping in a diverse range of applications is essential. In this article, we examine some of the factors that can negatively impact this function before presenting a timekeeping solution ideal for rugged applications in the most challenging conditions.
