Design Ideas for Sigma-Delta Instrumentation ADCs

The AD7712 is a member of a family of high-resolution second-generation sigma-delta converters designed for precision applications involving relatively low-bandwidth signals (see Analog Dialogue 26-2, pp. 7-9). The converters feature 24-bit-no-missing codes, low output noise (≤360 nV), a programmable-gain front end, programmable filter, differential input capability, and flexible digital calibration techniques.
