RS-232 / RS-422 / RS-485

Analog Devices offers a wide range of RS-232, RS-422, and RS-485 transceivers to suit many applications. The RS-232 specification allows for reliable data transmission from one transmitter to one receiver at data rates of up to 20 kbps over relatively short distances (up to 50 feet). On more recent RS-232 transceiver chips, data rates of up to 1 Mbps are achievable over shorter distances (up to 5 feet). The RS-485 specification meets the requirements for a truly multipoint communications network, while the RS-422 specification satisfies simplex multidrop standards.

Interface RS-232

The RS-232 specification allows for reliable data transmission from one transmitter to one receiver over relatively short distances (up to 50 feet).

Interface RS-485 and RS-422

ADI’s RS-485 specification meets the requirements for a truly multipoint communications network, and the standard specifies up to 32 drivers and 32 receivers on a single bus.

Isolated RS-232

Analog Devices offers a wide range of RS-232 transceivers, and our isoPower® DACs, as well as our iCoupler® technology, help create an isolated RS-232 environment.

Isolated RS-485

Analog Devices offers a wide range of standard RS-485/RS-422 transceivers and iCoupler® isolated RS-485/RS-422 transceivers to suit many applications.
