The ADN2841 is an anyrate, up to 2.7 Gbps, laser diode driver with dual-loop control of average power and extinction ratio. This feedback loop design enables consistent optical performance over temperature, as well as lifetime, diode processing variations, and diode supplier. Manufacturing savings are seen in a lowered component count and PCB area, as both average power and extinction ratio controls are fully integrated into the ADN2841. Additional cost reductions are realized as assembly time is decreased and laser similarity requirements are eased.
The ADN2841 operates from a single power supply at +5 V. It is available in 7 mm x 7 mm 48-Lead and 5 mm x 5 mm 32-Lead LFCSP Lead Frame Chip Scale packages.
