Frequently Asked Questions about Sampling

How do I request samples from ADI?

Analog Devices is pleased to offer a limited amount of free samples to qualified customers. In most cases, samples are shipped from an ADI warehouse within 24 hours.

To order samples online:

  • Step 1: Locate the part(s) you need by navigating through the Analog Devices website. After locating your part, click on the 'Add to Cart' button found on the product information pages. You will then be re-directed to the shopping cart.
  • Step 2: From the Shopping Cart page, click on the checkout button.
  • Step 3: If you are already registered, you will be prompted to login. If you are not already registered on the Analog Devices website, then you will be asked to register and complete the checkout process. All orders will receive an order acknowledgment and ship notice email.

    Can I order samples with a 3rd party email account (such as yahoo or hotmail)?

    We're sorry but online sample orders will only be accepted from valid email addresses with domain urls that originate from a company (example: joe.smith@ABCcompany.com) or from an educational institution (example: joe.smith@ABCuniversity.edu). ADI will no longer accept sample requests from accounts who have email addresses that have been created using third-party email providers, such as Yahoo, Hotmail, MSN, and AOL.

    How do I check the status of my sample order?

    If you have placed a sample order and would like to check the status of your order, simply click on the Order Status link located on the Samples homepage.

    When will my items be shipped?

    Most in stock items ship within 24 hours after the order is received into our warehouse. After placing your order, you will receive an acknowledgement by email with the details of your order ship date and expected delivery. Please note the warehouse location for the product ordered. Our warehouses located in the United States, Europe and Southeast Asia. Transit times from these sites may vary from 1 to 5 days depending on the availability, delivery method and your location. We take orders for items that are not in stock, so the delivery date may be scheduled at a future date.

    Do I need to register before I can order samples?

    Yes. If you are not already registered on Analog Devices website, then you will be asked to register. If you are already registered, you will be prompted to login with your username and password.     How many pieces am I allowed to order?

    Analog Devices offers a limited amount of free samples to qualified customers. Due to the large demand for our product samples we ask that you limit your sample request to 2 pieces per part with a maximum of 3 parts per order. Should your design needs require additional product quantities, please contact our Customer Service department, or you can purchase them on the web through Buy Online, or you can contact one of our authorized distributors.

    How much do product samples cost?

    All sample orders placed online are free.

    Can I order samples for "Pre-Release" products?

    Many of our pre-released parts are available to sample. Simply scroll down to the bottom of the product information page and look for an e-mail link to contact that specific product line for samples.

    What if I forgot my password?

    If you are a registered user on the Analog Devices web site and forgot your password, please click Forgot Password? located on the login page.

    What is the method of shipment for ADI samples?

    Customers Sample requests will be shipped via: USA & Canada - UPS 1-Day at no additional charge. Europe - TNT International at no additional charge. Japan - Federal Express International. Asia - TNT International at no additional charge. China - DHL at no additional charge.

    What is my ADI Order Number?

    Once your order is placed in our system for processing, we assign an ADI Order number for reference. If you have any questions pertaining to your order you will need this number when you contact the ADI Customer Service department.

    Which Analog Devices products can I sample?

    We offer most of our products to sample online. Some exceptions are special material manufactured for a single customer, parts that are on allocation or some very low volume parts. If you would like to order a part that is not available, you may be able to purchase it on the web through Buy Online, or you can contact one of our authorized distributors.

    Are samples orders subject to Analog Devices Terms & Conditions?

    Yes. Please review the Analog Devices Terms and Conditions before placing a samples order.

    Is the online sample system available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and if so, can I get product shipped out on a Saturday or Sunday?

    The online Sample system will be available for order placement and checking account and order status 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. However, our shipping departments are only open Monday through Friday.

    Is the site secure?

    We encrypt passwords and use SSL on order submissions. We will not disclose your email address or any other address contained in your registration form to anyone or any mail list. This information will be kept confidential at Analog Devices. Please view our privacy/security for additional questions.

    How do I know if you received my order?

    You will receive an order acknowledgement email from Analog Devices that will confirm that we have received your order. If you do not receive an order acknowledgement email, you can check the status of your order by visiting the Samples homepage and clicking on the Order Status link located on the samples homepage. Allow up to a few hours to receive the email. If you do not receive the order acknowledgment email, please contact our Customer Service department and they will check the system.
