Enhanced Products

Enhanced Products (EP) provide a commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) solution for High-Reliability applications without additional cost and challenges of custom designed parts and negates the need for custom screening .  ADI focuses efforts towards defense, avionics and aerospace with parts certified to the Aerospace Qualified Electronic Component (AQEC) standard which defines the minimum set of requirements provided by the manufacturer that will allow a COTS component to be designated by AQEC (GEIA-STD-0002-1).

These parts also have an associated V62 VID (vendor item drawing) under the DLA (Defense Logistics Agency) and can be located under the Mil Specs search engine.

Material Declaration

The majority of Analog Devices' products are manufactured through a centralized worldwide manufacturing organization. Approximately two-thirds of ADI's revenues come from products that are fabricated in our own wafer fabs, which are located in Massachusetts, California, and Ireland. The remaining portion of our revenues comes from products fabricated by external semiconductor contract manufacturing companies, or foundries.  The majority of our externally fabricated products are supplied by Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company, or TSMC, with whom we have enjoyed a long and mutually successful relationship. ADI owns a complete test and assembly facility in the Philippines.

RoHS Compliance

Restriction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS) regulations restrict the use of four heavy metals (lead, mercury, cadmium, and hexavalent chromium) and two brominated flame retardants (polybrominated diphenyl ethers and polybrominated biphenyls) in electrical and electronic devices. ADI provides products that allow our customers to be compliant with RoHS regulations. For more information on ADI's RoHS compliance program, see Analog Devices ROHS Compliance Information (pdf).

Analog Devices evaluation boards are specifically designed solely for the purpose of research and development and are made available solely on a business-to-business basis and therefore are excluded from the scope of the RoHS 2 Directive.

Export Classifications

ADI is committed to maintaining full compliance with all U.S. and other national government export laws and regulations. In the U.S., ADI is subject to the U.S.Export Administration Regulations (US EAR) for export and re-export of dual use items (these regulations are administered by the U.S. Department of Commerce). ADI is also subject to International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) for export and re-export of Defense Articles and Defense Services (these regulations are administered by the U.S. State Department). ADI’s ITAR registration number is M-2477.

The document posted below contains U.S. Export Control Classification Numbers (ECCNs), at the sub-paragraph level, for various Analog Devices products, as well as their corresponding US and European Union (EU) Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) numbers. ECCN data is important to exporters as these numbers allow an assessment to be made as to whether or not a U.S. export license or an export license issued by another National Government is required prior to executing an export or re-export transaction. HTS data is important for ensuring products are classified in the correct tariff categories, for import purposes, to enable accurate duties and taxes to be assessed and paid by the importing party.
