ADRV9001 Software and Hardware Selection Guide

The ADRV9001 evaluation system can be controlled using two different software packages provided by ADI. The two software packages serve different user types. This document is designed to help the user to better understand the differences between available ADRV9001 software packages and their corresponding hardware configurations.

ADRV9001 Prototyping Platform

The ADRV9001 Prototyping Platform provides users a Linux-based, platform agnostic software development kit to facilitate quick evaluation and bring-up of an ADRV9001 based solution. Offering compatibility with IIO-Scope and GNU Radio, the ADRV9001 is well suited for applications where high-level control of basic product functionality is sufficient.

ADRV9001 Transceiver Evaluation Software (TES) and Software Development Kit (SDK)

The ADRV9001 TES & SDK package supports end-users through the evaluation, prototyping and production phases of an ADRV9001-series transceiver development. This software package offers the lowest level of product control for demanding radio applications and is regularly updated to deliver the latest set of product capabilities. The ADRV9001 TES & SDK operates seamlessly with the EVAL-ADRV9002 evaluation system and are essential tools in developing the application-level software to configure and control the ADRV9001-series transceivers. TES additionally offers a demonstration mode that allows customers to virtually experience what the ADRV9001 series transceivers can offer.

Tools & Simulations

ADIsimRF

ADIsimRF is an easy-to-use RF signal chain calculator. Cascaded gain, noise, distortion and power consumption can be calculated, plotted and exported for signal chains with up to 50 stages. ADIsimRF also includes an extensive data base of device models for ADI’s RF and mixed signal components.
