EV AC Charger Design

2023年12月21日

ADI’s new AC EVSE reference design solution makes use of a new Energy Management Platform or EMP chip which offers Class C or equivalent Class 0.5 accuracy and supports certification under the MID and IEC standards. It is also capable of Pen open fault detection. The ability to sample full cycle and half cycle RMS current signals allows for fast overcurrent detection.

The EMP chip can perform bidirectional energy measurement and the onboard auxiliary ADCs allow for extra sensing data to be measured, such as temperature.

For AC EVSE companies, use of ADI’s reference design would be cost optimized compared to buying an off the shelf meter. The design achieves a small form factor and is integrated on a single PCB that includes all sensors for metrology, the MCU, RCD and relay. Extensive pre-certification testing has also been performed.
