JVCKENWOOD: COMBINING EFFORTS TO STRENGTHEN COMMUNICATIONS FOR FIRST RESPONDERS

Firefighters, police, and EMS rely on wireless radio communications to help them rapidly coordinate their response to everyday emergencies. In the extreme, disaster response teams need to coordinate recovery efforts when communications infrastructure has been damaged by winds, floods, fires, or other natural disasters. Even during routine operations, many public safety teams use wireless products and systems to improve operations and teamwork.

Analog Devices, Inc. (ADI) brought its radio frequency (RF) and digital signal processing (DSP) capabilities to JVCKENWOOD (JKC), while JKC brought an intimate knowledge of this market’s needs and pain points. The result of our collaborative effort is Nevis, ADI’s first software-defined radio IC with an integrated modem platform, optimized for land mobile radios, handheld radios, and other low power, narrowband radio applications.

Continuing 20+ years of expertise in the handheld radio industry, ADI is addressing the need for enhanced radio performance, leveraging firsthand market insights from JKC to help provide our customers with the latest technology. Learn how Nevis could help JKC improve the performance of its critical communications radios—and with it, the lives of first responders who count on that equipment.
