What are the advantages of JDATA streaming mode?

The advantage of using JDATA streaming mode is that registers can be written to and read from while JDATA data transfer is taking place. On the other hand, JDATA mode allows only a 8-bit wide compressed data output stream and can only be used for 16-bit host interface applications.
