Abstract

VITROPERM^® DC-tolerant current transformers (CTs), from Vacuumschmelze GmBH (VAC), are used in an energy meter by applying advanced methods of calibration and temperature compensation. This application note describes how to integrate VITROPERM CTs into a polyphase meter that operates with the Teridian 71M6523, a single-phase energy-meter IC. The article also discusses measures that further improve the load line. The methods demonstrated in this document are easily transferable to high-current VITROPERM CTs and other Teridian energy-metering ICs. Read full article.
