ADI employs a mix of internal facilities and external subcontractors for hardware and a combination of in-house and partner development teams for software. This results in short lead times supporting improved time-to-market for our customers.
Internal Manufacturing
Our internal manufacturing facilities use proprietary processes to create proprietary IC technologies, setting the standard in innovation. ADI’s IC technologies and software solutions follow the highest quality and reliability standards in the industry, from the first unit to the billionth unit.
External Manufacturing
For external suppliers, ADI leverages carefully chosen partnerships. These partners are critical components of ADI’s manufacturing and development strategy, allowing ADI access to key process technologies and software expertise that align with the New Product Development roadmaps.
Our suppliers are managed by regionally deployed logistics and engineering teams. The suppliers are expected to compete in fast ramping, cost-sensitive vertical markets while meeting strict quality standards. We deploy a rigorous supplier assessment, monitoring, and improvement program to ensure seamless integration, consistent performance, and ongoing capability improvements aligned with our commitment to customers’ zero-defect expectations.
Quality and Reliability
ADI’s products are industry-leading not only for their technological capabilities but also for quality and reliability. ADI utilizes a multi-faceted approach to meet or surpass the most stringent quality and reliability goals.
First, product reliability is a cornerstone of the overall performance quality. ADI performs extensive reliability testing on new products, processes, packages, and software during their development and continuously monitors their reliability on an ongoing basis. This results in an industry-leading Failure in Time (FIT) rate for hardware and high stability for software.
Second, we use cutting-edge techniques to detect outlier or potentially non-conforming material identified at any stage of the manufacturing or development process, and we employ cross-functional teams who quickly respond to address problems.
Finally, ADI emphasizes Enterprise Excellence values and fosters a culture of quality. This is demonstrated through our success in the industry’s most quality-sensitive markets, such as automotive, defense/aerospace, and automatic test equipment (ATE).
