摘要
本篇应用笔记介绍了MAX3514/MAX3516电缆上行放大器的测试性能。测试数据包括二次谐波、三次谐波、输出功率与频率的关系和ACPR。所有测试以DOCSIS 2.0规范为标准,结果显示放大器均符合规范中的规定。
摘要
对上行CATV放大器MAX3514/MAX3516的测试是依据DOCSIS 2.0 PHY规范进行的。测试结果表明这些IC均符合DOCSIS 2.0标准。
DOCSIS 2.0
DOCSIS (有线传输数据业务接口规范)是高速电缆数据传输系统的RF接口规范。
DOCSIS 2.0是DOCSIS规范的第三代标准。DOCSIS 2.0、DOCSIS 1.1和DOCSIS 1.0分别代表三种不同规范。
DOCSIS 2.0规范最初的目标是加强电缆接入系统DOCSIS 1.0和1.1规范对上行物理层性能的限制,定义了两种新的MAC (媒介接入控制)管理信息类,并对现有的MAC信息定义了一些新的参数编码。DOCSIS 2.0 CMTS (电缆调制解调器终端系统)在给定信道带宽下能够支持更高的上行信息吞吐量,并增强了上行通道所允许的噪声容差。DOCSIS 2.0 CMTS向下兼容于DOCSIS 1.0和DOCSIS 1.1。
MAX3514/MAX3516是为CATV上行数据传输设计的增益可调上行放大器系列产品,工作频率范围:5MHz至64MHz,可以驱动+64dBmV的QPSK (MAX3516)。由于输入端和输出端均为差分形式,输出端需要一个外部非平衡变压器。可变增益通过SPI 3线接口控制,提供大于56dB的动态范围(MAX3514/MAX3516)。增益控制步长为0.5dB (MAX3514/MAX3516)或1dB (MAX3510)。
测量
- 所有测试在室温下进行。
- VCC = 5.0V
- PIN = -13dBm (50Ω系统+34dBmV下的信道功率)
- 输入信号:
- 使用20位PRBS的QPSK调制根余弦滤波器,α = 0.25
- 使用20位PRBS的16 QAM调制,根余弦滤波器, α = 0.25
- 使用20位PRBS的64 QAM调制, 根余弦滤波器, α = 0.25
- 高功率模式
- 输入ACPR为-66dBc
- 160kHz测量带宽(200kHz信道间距)
- 320kHz测量带宽(400kHz信道间距)
- 640kHz测量带宽(800kHz信道间距)
- 1280kHz测量带宽(1600kHz信道间距)
- 2560kHz测量带宽(3200kHz信道间距)
- 5120kHz测量带宽(6400kHz信道间距)
修正与单位换算
- 50Ω系统中,PIN/OUT (dBmV) = PIN/OUT (dBm) + 47dB
- 75Ω系统中,PIN/OUT (dBmV) = PIN/OUT (dBm) + 49dB
- MAX3514/MAX3516评估板输出端有7.5dB最小损耗衰减器,所以POUT (dBmV) = POUT (dBm) + 47dB + 7.5dB + 电缆损耗
测试设备清单
(典型的测试方案如图1所示)
