Infrequent Temperature Measurements
Abstract
The Teridian 71M6511, 71M6613, and 71M6515H energy-measurement-IC demonstration boards present temperature-measurement techniques using the Demo Code 3.03 and later revisions. By nature, temperature changes are usually slow, especially in enclosed systems, and require only infrequent updates from the on-chip temperature sensor. Therefore, it is possible to read temperatures less frequently than at 1s intervals. This application note describes methods for temperature measurement when > 1s intervals are used.
