The ADXL377 is a small, thin, low power, complete 3-axis accelerometer with signal conditioned voltage outputs. The ADXL377 measures acceleration resulting from motion, shock, or vibration with a typical full-scale range of ±200g.

The user selects the bandwidth of the accelerometer using the CX, CY, and CZ capacitors at the XOUT, YOUT, and ZOUT pins. Bandwidths can be selected to suit the application, with a range of 0.5 Hz to 1300 Hz for the x-axis and y-axis and a range of 0.5 Hz to 1000 Hz for the z-axis.

The ADXL377 is available in a small, low profile, 3 mm × 3 mm × 1.45 mm, 16-lead lead frame chip scale package (LFCSP_LQ).

Product Details

The EVAL-ADXL377Z is a simple breakout board that allows quick evaluation of the performance of the ADXL377. The ADXL377 is a 3-axis analog-output accelerometer with ±200 g measurement range. The small size (1" x 1") of the breakout board makes it easy to mount the accelerometer to an existing system without the need for additional hardware and with minimal effect on performance of the system and of the accelerometer. This IC is very interesting. I wish there was an SOIC version for easier hand-prototyping :) But, we had to use the oven to make it work. It is superior

SUPERB FUNCTIONALITY
It is an excellent product, but 200g might be too much for applications that are for highly sensitive measurements. We are lately testing ADXL362, which is 2g, 4g, and 8g

I got some ADXL377 samples. I requested them to compare with the ADXL375s I am using currently. What would be helpfull would be an app note showing how to physicly test high G accelerometers. Possibly with some kind of an internal balance rig so a data cable can be connected. My first thought was to build a centrifuge to create a high G test environment, but that makes cabling difficult.

Performed extremely well!
My only request is about the breakout board that is sold for this part. I could not find what value the capacitors that act as the RC filter are. This is important to determine bandwidth (especially in our project), and it would have been helpful to have this information published.
