The ADIS16203 is a complete incline-angle measurement system in a single compact package enabled by the Analog Devices, Inc., iSensor integration. By enhancing the Analog Devices iMEMS® sensor technology with an embedded signal processing solution, the ADIS16203 provides factory-calibrated, sensor-to-digital incline-angle data in a convenient format that can be accessed using a serial peripheral interface (SPI). The SPI interface provides access to multiple measurements: 360° linear inclination angles, ±180° linear incline angles, temperature, power supply, and one auxiliary analog input. Easy access to calibrated digital sensor data provides developers with a system-ready device, reducing development time, cost, and program risk.

Unique characteristics of the end system are accommodated easily through several built-in features, such as a single-command offset calibration, along with convenient sample rate and band-width control.

The ADIS16203 offers the following embedded features that eliminate the need for external circuitry and provide a simplified system interface:

  • Configurable alarm function
  • Auxiliary 12-bit analog-to-digital converter (ADC)
  • Auxiliary 12-bit digital-to-analog converter (DAC)
  • Configurable digital I/O port
  • Digital self-test function

The ADIS16203 offers two power management features for managing system-level power dissipation: low power mode and a configurable shutdown feature.

The ADIS16203 is available in a 9.2 mm × 9.2 mm × 3.9 mm laminate-based land grid array (LGA) package with a temperature range of −40°C to +125°C.

APPLICATIONS

  • Tilt sensing, inclinometers
  • Platform control, stabilization, and leveling
  • Motion/position measurement
  • Monitor/alarm devices (security, medical, safety)
  • Robotics

EVAL-ADIS-FX3

ADI FX3 iSensor® Evaluation System

Features and Benefits

  • Real-time sampling of IMU at full sample rate with no loss of data guaranteed.
  • No external power needed. (Can be powered from USB port.)
  • Completely open source API, Firmware, and Evaluation GUI.
  • Schematics available
  • API includes a wrapper library for interfacing to MATLAB, Python, LabView.

Product Details

The EVAL-ADIS-FX3 is the latest addition to the iSensor evaluation portfolio and was designed from the ground up to provide users with an easy-to-use solution for capturing reliable inertial data in lab and characterization environments. The EVAL-ADIS-FX3 incorporates the ability to capture inertial sensor data at maximum throughput while interfacing with external test equipment and reacting to external triggers.

In addition to launching a redesigned hardware platform, we’ve also developed a robust API that allows users to quickly build custom applications that capture reliable sensor data. We’ve included many useful features into the API that enable designers to characterize sensor performance in any .NET compatible environment.

APPLICATIONS

  • Inertial sensing
  • Robotics
  • Autonomous driving
  • Platform stabilization

ADIS16203/PCB

ADIS16203 Daughter Board

Product Details

The ADIS16203/PCBZ is a breakout board that provides (1) ADIS16203CCCZ and (1) interface PCB to simplify the process of "prototyping" during the early stages of system design and evaluation. The ADIS16203CCCZ is a fully-calibrated, digital MEMS inclinometer, which provides a serial peripheral interface (SPI) for all digital communications. It is in a 16-lead, LGA package that minimizes board space but does not support typical prototype soldering processes. The interface PCB provides access to the ADIS16203CCCZ, using dual-row, 12-pin connectors, which supports standard ribbon cable systems and hand-soldering connection techniques.

Product Details

The EV-STRUCTURAL-ARDZ is a vibration sensor that uses the ADXL343 digital output MEMS accelerometer chip and the ADIS16203 programmable 360° inclinometer. Aside from providing vibration data, this sensor node also features the MAX30210 digital temperature sensor which gives the option to shut down sensitive machines and equipment for smart motor sensing applications.

The on-board inclinometer can be used to detect if the horizontal position of the sensor changes, which points towards a collapse of the structure where the sensor was deployed.

APPLICATIONS

  • Structural health sensor
  • Tilt sensing, inclinometers
  • Platform control, stabilization, and leveling
  • Motion/position measurement
  • Monitor/alarm devices (security, medical, safety)
