The MAX40658 and MAX40659 are transimpedance amplifiers for optical distance measurement receivers for LiDAR applications. Low noise, high gain, low group delay, and fast recovery from overload make these parts ideal for distance-measurement applications.

Important features include 45nARMS input-referred noise, an internal 100mA clamp, 18kΩ (MAX40658) and 36kΩ (MAX40659) transimpedance, and greater than 360MHz bandwidth. An offset input allows adjustment of input offset current. Operating from a +3.3V supply, the MAX40658 and MAX40659 consume only 70mW.

The MAX40658 and MAX40659 are available in a 3mm x 3mm, 8-pin TDFN package or bare die, and are specified over the -40°C to 85°C operating temperature range.

Product Details

The MAX40658 evaluation kit (EV kit) is a fully assembled electrical demonstration kit that provides a proven design to evaluate the MAX40658 and MAX40659 transimpedance amplifier.

Note that the MAX40658 evaluation kit provides an electrical interface to the IC that is similar, but not identical to, a photodiode.

The MAX40658 EV kit PCB comes with a MAX40658AETA+ 18.3kΩ transimpedance device installed. To evaluate the MAX40659AETA+ (36.6kΩ transimpedance), contact the factory for free samples of the pin-compatible device.
